 Ash Wednesday Service

Wednesday, February 17th

7:00 pm

Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance, or turning away from sin.  Ashes are imposed in the sign of the cross for all who wish to receive them as a sign of this turning.  This day also marks the beginning of the season of Lent, or the 40 days leading up to Easter.  We invite all to attend our worship service on this evening and begin their own 40 day spiritual journey.

An Evening in Venice

Saturday, February 13th

Seatings at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm

Looking for a romantic dinner without leaving Gretna?  Come and enjoy an Evening Venice here at Gretna United Methodist.  Let our Senior High Youth group serve you a delicious pasta meal with salad, bread, and drinks to make your evening complete.  A suggested donation of $7.50 per person is greatly appreciated, which helps support our youth program and their upcoming mission trip.

Please register for your preferred seating time by signing up in Fellowship Hall or contacting the church office.  We hope to see you in our own corner of Italy!

 Men's Breakfast Bible Study

Men:  join us for breakfast at D & K Cafe in Gretna each Tuesday morning at 6:30 am.  We have great food, fellowship, and have you on your way to the rest of your day by 7:30 am.

We are currently in a Discover Life Bible study called "Oh Brother!" which studies the impact that a close friend can have on our lives and our ministry.

Lesson 1—Loyal for Life: David and Johnathan.

Lesson 2—Brothers who changed the world: Moses and Aaron.

Lesson 3—Two ordinary men: Peter and John.

Lesson 4—Larger than life: Elijah and Elisha.

Lesson 5—Set apart for service: Paul and Barnabas.

Lesson 6—an in-law from heaven: Moses and Jethro.

Lesson 7—A son in the faith: Paul and Timothy.

Discover Life is a Bible study series for small groups. It is designed to bring Men to Jesus Christ and help them grow spiritually and enjoy the fellowship of other believers. Come and join us!
