About the General and Annual Conferences
The United Methodist Church is a connectional church made up of congregations and people from around the world. In order to maintain the cooperation and community befitting the body of Christ, every four years we send representatives from around the world to engage in joint worship, conversation, and discernment about where God is calling us as a denomination. This gathering is known as General Conference.
