To the Gretna United Methodist Church:
What to Expect if you Come to Worship
On May 31st we will begin holding in-person worship services at our 9:30 a.m. worship service. WE WILL CONTINUE TO STREAM THE WORSHIP SERVICE LIVE ON FACEBOOK!. Please consider which option is best for your family and others in the congregation.
Below are the policies and instructions that will be followed should you choose to attend. These guidelines have been made with consideration of the Great Plains Conference Guidelines and approved by the worship committee and church staff. .
Masks are strongly encouraged for individuals.
The CDC says children under 2 are not required to wear masks.
Masks will be available for those who do not have them.
Entering and Exiting
Please enter the building through the West doors only. Do not enter though the East doors.
Doors will be propped open to eliminate unnecessary contact with the door handles.
At the doors will be the offering plates for you to deposit your offering as you enter or exit the sanctuary. Noisy offering buckets will also be placed by the entrances. You are also encouraged to continue to make payments through our website.
Ushers will assist you to find a seat to help regulate the safe distance from each family group.
There will be additional seating in the fellowship hall.
After the service those seated in the Fellowship Hall will exit through the east doors while maintaining six foot social distancing between family groups. Those seated in the sanctuary will leave through the west doors maintaining six foot social
distancing between family groups.
There will be no hospitality after service.
No hugs or handshakes! Use waves to greet others from a safe distance.
During Service
Bulletins and attendance cards will be placed in the pews for each family. Please fill out the attendance card and leave it in the pew. Pens/pencils WILL NOT BE PROVIDED – Please bring your own writing utensil. You may also sign in online through the website.
Congregational singing is discouraged as droplets/aerosols are spread even more widely. Please sing quietly to yourself or silently. Worship leaders will still be in front of the congregation to lead songs. Use this time to reflect on the words and place them in your hearts.
The only restroom that will be available will be the restrooms in the main hallway closest to the sanctuary. The doors will be propped open to reduce exposure.
Children
There will be NO Toy Zone provided during service.
We will also not be providing the activity bags. Please bring entertainment for your children if you choose to attend.
There will be a Children’s message but the children will be asked to stay in their seats.
